Reflection
For this assignment I prepared a proof video and the game. In the video, I proved root 2 is irrational. I applied the things that I learned from my previous interactive video assignment. I was able to record my voice way more clear and I used da vinci editor more to cut unwanted voices.
My plan for the game was to introduce historical background of discovery of the irrational numbers. There is math history selective courses in high school or middle schools too. So, I thought it would be a nice topic to work with. I introduced the Pythagorean School in which people religiously believed all numbers were rational. I put some images to information boxes and added a short quiz question. My learning objective mainly was identify irrational numbers and apply the proof I showed them. I think I could prepare more interactive objects that help the learning objectives. However, I had limited time and imagination I guess.
Pythagorean School was founded in today’s South Italy and it was a port city. I found 3D models from Sketchfab website and I also used delightex’s built in search which was searching similar places to find free to use models. I had difficult time to pick an environment as I could not add water in outside of the player’s place. So, I picked ocean and give an illusion that it is connected to mainland.
